When I heard that with the Need For Speed Shift title they are going to move away from the street racing scene i was very excited. When the first Need For Speed Underground title came out it was a lot of fun and even underground 2 was awesome. They brought back police chases in Need For Speed Most Wanted which was a huge change from just the normal underground titles and that was about the last Need For Speed I enjoyed for a while. I started playing Carbon but lost interest, the same happened with Pro Street. With Pro Street they took the import tuner cars to track events but it wasn’t interesting enough for me. All the tuning and customization was also only fun until Underground 2. I didn’t even bother buying Undercover, I just got tired of it all.

Then the preview started showing for the Need For Speed Shift title. It looked a lot different and you could see that they are going a total different direction. I bought the game and I am about 75% complete now, and I must say its awesome. They moved from the street racing to the track. Need For Speed Shift is an arcade racing game with a little bit of a driving simulator to it as well. It is not as realistic as the Gran Turismo and Forza games but it is a lot more realistic than previous titles. The cars are great as well as the tracks, and the graphics are just awesome. Customizing and upgrading the car is very easy and quick, but there is also options for the more artistic people to fiddle with things. I have been playing it for a while now and I am still not tired of it. hopefully they can keep it up in the next title.
