I recently discovered the MTN Bike Park in Johannesburg and been there a couple of times now. The whole setup is very nice, and it is easy to access the different single tracks, making it easy to ride a certain trail over and aver again.
The single tracks differ from easy flowing trails with small obstacles to intermediate and difficult ones with bigger obstacles and some steep climbs with a couple of nice drops as well. Continue reading »

On a mountain biking trip to the Groenkloof Nature reserve in Pretoria we came across some animals. Firstly we got very close to two sables. They were not bothered by us just made sure that we keep our distance. Shortly after that we saw about 7 giraffes and they were grazing in the single track that we were using. It was an awesome experience to get so close to these big animals.

After all the rain we had the trip was very muddy. Shawn took along his camera and I wanted him to film me while going down a big drop. I went too fast and had to brake a bit, when i pulled the rear brake i slid and couldn’t take the correct line into the stream. The route that i took had a huge hole. the font wheel got stuck and i got wet. Enjoy!
